Environmental policy
PIP undertakes to manage its business so as to ensure a minimum of environmental impact. It will do this in the following ways:
Equalities and diversity policy
PIP believes that to achieve its charitable aims it needs to attract a diverse range of people to become Trustees, staff and users and members of the grownupgreen website. It is important that this be thought about and worked towards so that the experiences of those involved with the charity and grownupgreen may be made rich and fulfilling.
PIP understands that some people may experience barriers to full inclusion in society, including the prejudice and ignorance of others, and resolves to acknowledge this in its work and actively seek ways, in all that it does, to learn how to identify and minimise the effects of those barriers.
Ethical Policy
PIP's charitable objectives are:
grownupgreen is the primary vehicle through which PIP will meet these objectives. We believe everyone can make a positive difference to their environment, however small, and should be encouraged to do so. We are committed to raising awareness, providing information, training materials and practical skills to contribute to a sustainable world environment. We shall do this in a way that engenders trust and openness with our users and other stakeholders.
Specifically, we encourage individuals and groups to get involved with environmental and sustainable development issues, corporate/social responsibility and fair trade.
In the course of debate on sustainability, we recognise that there will be a range of views and opinions. Whilst we respect others' views, we shall not promote or enter into business with those whose goals and philosophies appear to be inconsistent with our aims.
grownupgreen respects human rights, values diversity, and supports equality of opportunities (as well as complying with current legislation, we shall not discriminate on grounds of age).
Where ethical dilemmas arise, we shall work promptly to reach an equitable resolution. The content of grownupgreen shall be regularly monitored to make sure there is compliance with this policy.
We shall principally endeavour to work only with people and organisations who share grownupgreen's philosophy, or whose beliefs are complementary.
